Lip-Reading Groups in Consett and Stanley every Wednesday

Lip Reading Groups

  • Are you having difficulties following conversations?
  • Is your hearing loss causing problems at home, or at work?
  • Do you feel isolated, even in the family unit?
  • Would you like to improve your communication skills?
  • Would you like to meet other people who have experience of Lip-Reading needs, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere?

If you can answer yes to any of the above, we look forward to seeing you at one of our Local Community Support Groups.

Coffee Morning at Horden Social Welfare Centre, Thursdays 10:30 - 12:30, starting 20th November 2025

We are currently running a coffee morning drop in at the Horden office, where you can come and have a catch up. Feel free to drop by!

Crafts groups

We currently run crafts group at Sedgefield, Darlington, and Horden. Please enquire with the office about attending these groups eitehr by calling 0191 518 3358 or emailing admin@ddsupport.org.uk

Summer Walks successfully took place over the summer of 2025. Stay tuned for plans for Summer 2026!

We visited Durham Riverside, Hardwick Park, Crookhall Gardens Durham, and Wolsingham Park over the months of June - August 2025 and look forward to expanding our routes next year.

Cochlear Implant Friendship Group

A new social/support group for those with Cochlear Implant.

Our CI Groups normally have a  representative from Advanced Bionics present to answer any questions you may have.

We currently run Tinnitus Support Groups in Chester-Le-Street, Darlington and Seaham, on the last week of every month. Please contact DDS on 0191 518 3358 or admin@ddsupport.org.uk to enquire about 2026 groups.
